Orientation of the Ecommerce Week

Last week, one of the annual highlights in the Ecommerce industry took place: Ecommerce Week. During the online conference, experts held practical, workshop-like presentations and gave participants concrete recommendations for implementation. The speakers were all proven experts - whether it was about conversion optimization, merchandise financing, finetrading or marketing.

Exchange at the Ecommerce Week

Despite the change from live sessions to virtual sessions, networking was not neglected: During the lunch breaks, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants and speakers and to expand their own network within the framework of online speed networking via webcam in the conference area of the Ecommerce Week.

With so many excellent speakers, for example from Händlerbund, Trusted Shops, BidX, Idealo, and many more, it was really hard for us to pick favorites. However, the following lectures are among them fulfins absolute highlights during the Ecommerce Week:

Katharina Breuer, Team Lead International Performance Marketing at Trusted Shops held a session on the topic "More Trust - More Conversions: How to increase your sales with trust marketing". In it, she showed typical places where you lose customers and explained how to prevent purchase cancellations with elements from trust marketing.

Fredi Gruber, Co-Founder of fulfin spoke on the topic of "Profitability and liquidity - what really matters - a case study before and after the crisis". The case study dealt with how a trader can plan his profitability. And all this without losing sight of the liquidity of his company. Fredi Gruber also gave helpful tips on financing purchases and alternative financing methods.

Thomas Kurschat, Senior B2B Marketing Manager at idealo gave a presentation on the topic of "Growth Drivers in E-Commerce - Online Retailers Mustn't Miss These Trends". In it, he showed the trend and growth drivers for online retailers. This was based on data insights from important shopping events of the past year - such as Black Friday. In the session, he also evaluated important trends in the industry. For example, the topic of sustainability.

Max Hofmann, Co-Founder of BidX held a session on the topic "Amazon Advertising: PDAs are dead - what are the new Sponsored Display Ads really good for? He dealt with what the new advertising format Sponsored Display Ads does for Amazon sellers and which mistakes should be avoided at all costs. 

Jan Griesel, Chairman of the Board of plentysystems spoke about the topic "Multichannel made easy: Conquer the national and international markets with perfect content and only one interface". The session highlights possibilities to manage different marketplaces, shops and POS in one software: plentymarkets. In this way, digital sales channels can be used to increase reach and maximize profits. 

Sandra May, Team Leader Legal Content at Händlerbund gave a presentation on the topic "Warned off: Legal pitfalls in social media marketing". Numerous warnings for surreptitious advertising as well as the DSGVO often lead to uncertainty among social media users. The session evaluated common pitfalls and gave participants more confidence in dealing with legal problems.
